I can see I'm swimming against the tide here - I can see how you could make a case to keep him but if we don't sign him do you think the Roar or GCU would pick him up - even as a squad player (forgetting the visa spot issue) ? Really ?
 
The issue for me is I can't see how we are going to make the quantum leap from a struggling mid table team to the Roar of 2011/12 unless we significantly raise the benchmark for keeping and signing players.
 
Even last season when we finished 3rd we were still a long way behind Melbourne and Sydney.
 
Daniel doesn't, for me, make the benchmark.
