Daniel looked good in season one - with a fair amount of credit for that due to Filipe. There was also the novelty factor of having a tricky Brazilian in the team. Last, and no means least, he's a very good club man who has a great rapour with supporters, especially the kids.

Time has moved on - he is 3 years older and has lost whatever pace he had. The standard of play maker in the top tier teams in the league is also, I'd suggest, a lot higher than it was e.g. Flores, Hernandes, Culina and take your pick out of the Roar.

I would not re-sign Daniel.

I have no interest in seeing us keep players because they would be good squad players - we have a team of squad players - it's players who are as good as players in the Roar and GCU we need to be keeping or signing.

I'm not sure that salary cap is that big an issue either - with the 3 marque spots and a slightly smaller squad I think we can do better.

The far bigger issue will be the health of Terry's bank account.
