I was at a Fundraising Dinner featuring Wynton Rufer recently- and he maintained he thought the Phoenix would not make the top 6 (from the start of the season) this year due to the World Cup impact.
I don't really see the need for vast overseas recruitment given we only had 1 foreign place on offer?
The reality of the A League roster rules is the you need to have a large pool of mediocore Aussie (and NZ Players for the 'nix), you simply don't get a choice
I'd personality like to see more investment in the team in terms of (minimum wage), moderately risky youth options, with more money being spent on key players, rather than vast sums being spent on 5 year A-league 'pros' who's only distinguishing feature is holding the right passport.
