Because it came from his fathers own mouth. I dont think he was using it as a tool to get him a bigger contract just saying how insulting he thought the offer was.
You personally heard this? When was that offer made? If true that is just bizzare. His value would depend on how long a contract he was prepared to sign. Just one more year and he would be close to our top paid players. Three years and he would probably be the most valuable player in the squad as it is also a (albeit risky) investment. I also think his presence is good marketing for the club, he's exciting and people want to see him play.
