Is it just me, or do some of the numpties on here have completely unrealistic views on what a good salary in the A-League is?

The salary cap for a team in the A-League is about 2 million dollars, and that has to cover 20 players.

Our favourite Wikipedia quotes the average salary:

"The average annual salary for an A-league player excluding Marquee players is $AUD106,608 and the minimum salary is $AUD46,215"

So with a number of experienced players available to play in the A-League, a lot more experience than Marco can bring to the table, where the hell do you pull a $200K salary offer from?

I agree Marco has done some good things this season, since he's started, but let's be clear, he's still youth, he's only played a handful of games, and if it came down to it, I'd take an experienced striker over giving Marco $200K just so his Dad in Hamilton can stop having a whinge to some local club footballers.
