Smeltz is a goal-scoring machine and a big name in NZ. Even though most of us in the Fever know what a dick he's been since leaving, I imagine a lot of the general public don't. Bringing him back would be one hell of a drawcard.

If he asks for high wages - sign him as our Australian Marquee if necessary (assuming his Aussie citizenship makes him eligible).

That being said it's not going to happen. It'd be a good move for the Nix, but he seems to desire the Australian lifestyle more.
