Question; What do the other 5 sides who made the playoffs have that the Nix don't.

Answer: Creative midfield playmakers. Try Flores, Hernandez, Perez, Broich, Culina.

There is, and always has been a huge hole in the Nix team. That is a creative player who can be the go to man when you want something special. We have a solid defense, a solid defensive midfield and some good wide players. But we have no one who has the skill and vision to link these all up. Too often the likes of Rojas or Ifill get the ball in a static position and are forced to creat something from a standing start.

We need to play the game at a higher tempo. Overall, this season we have seen a jump in quality in the A-League. Quite a few sides now play a quick short passing game. We kind of look pedestrian with our slow deliberate buildups and slow lumbering front players(apart from Rojas and Ifill ).

I hope in the off season Rickie and the rest of the support staff take the time to look at where the A-League is heading and decide what sort of game the Nix want to play and then go out and recruit players who can play that style in an efficient manner.

In the past we have tended to go out and recruit a player and then figure out where we can fit them in.( North, Siggy and Durante all starting against the Reds) That has got to stop. We do not want to settle for being a midtable side that battles into the playoffs every season. We are a very good club, well run, well set up and well supported. There is no reason why we can't be a top 3 side.

It all starts this off season with recruitment.
