"With the season under way in October, Serepisos reassured supporters saying he and coach Ricki Herbert are already scouting for players and staff.

"We have spots for about eight or nine players. Ricki and I are going to take our time viewing players. We're already looking.

"I don't want a repeat of last year, when we made a couple of wrong choices. We want to take our time and get it right.

"We're looking at players in Brazil and a couple in the UK, as well as scouting all New Zealand's best. The ambition has always been to win the A-League."

Serepisos said he would also like to take a Phoenix game to Auckland, possibly next season, while adding next year's second team will soon have a big-name coach"
