Really? 
I think it’s a generation thing. The kids who fought in the Great War sacrificed their lives and from that we pressured Britain to make us a rich little country. In WW2 we went where Britain went.

Much of this current generation has had over 100% and in some cases many times that in virtue free capital gains on property that inflation paid to in the 70s. Will it sacrifice a bit of that to invest in infrastructure, to sacrifice for their descendants future? Will they f-. The 20s and 30s of the late 70s and 80s are vampires. 

Look at the way the government decided that parents of 19 and 20 year old adults were responsible for them. And decided to bollocks the young people for not getting non-existent jobs. Ghouls.

You think the property bubble economy was the Wellington council’s fault? Jaysus. 

It was a cross party stitch up because everyone had cash and felt good. And no one risked saying the Emperor had no clothes.
