I’d like a few things anchoring us. You know my whole life it’s been ‘good things take time’ and now it’s the 70 year old farmers wanna get a jacuzzi and travel before they go. Not that I begrudge them- it’s tough work. But it feels like giving them the Fonterra monopoly was to represent NZ and fly our flag. They’re throwing in the towel. It feels like the country is gunna get carved up.
And reading a bit of history- we give something away we might not get it back. Vietnam was a colony for over a thousand years. Egypt had no independent ruler between Cleopatra and recently. We’ve got the FBI in Wellington. Our answer to our population overhang is privatise health it seems. And Americanize it so the costs land on us individually, in the end, to enriched corporates.

(Also sake or nihon shu isn’t that popular here these days. Shochu and highballs, which are just mixed drinks mostly, are a bit better amongst real drunks. And Korean shoju is cool, like Kpop. Also osake or sake refers to all alcohol here on menus.)
