robbie bajic isnt the greatest keeper, he is probly the weaker of links in a 'pretty good on paper' adelaide side.

lets not forget travis dodd, kristian sarkies, cassio, salley, players who can create, score and defend respectively.

im sure travis dodd always scores against new zealand teams, quite gameturning goals too.

we have a chance to get some goals without valkanis there.

3-2  NIX!

Christie deflected free kick.

Felipe bycycle kick.

and Brownlie to break goal drought with a tap in.

Draw - 1 all - Adelaide are a good side, yet to hit any real form, but they will be contenders for top four. Adelaide gets very hot as the season progresses, and they seem to cope better with heat than visiting teams - hopefully we get temps well below 10 for Sat night, we will catch them cold.

6-0? Hahah the biggest margin id say would be a 3-0 downing, dont see a 6er in the books.

Latest from Adelaides daily newspaper.

"Adelaide United coach Aurelio Vidmar suspects Reds reject Ross Aloisi has a score to settle and could target striker Nathan Burns in Saturday night's Westpac Stadium clash.

Inaugural Phoenix skipper Aloisi was dismissed from Hindmarsh in the spite-tinged fallout from United's 0-6 grand final loss to Melbourne Victory.

The central midfield veteran had a year to serve on his contract.

Can Aloisi spook winless Adelaide and Burns, already labelled a diver by Melbourne hitman Kevin Muscat?

"I don't care. He is an ex-Adelaide United player. We are playing against 11 Wellington Phoenix players, that's how we are looking at it," said Vidmar, acknowledging the NZ side's "great" 2-1, away victory over Sydney FC in the last round.

"He has the point to prove - not us. We are going out to play our game.

"I am sure Nathan knows about Ross and I am sure Ross will want to kick him. He has to catch him first."

Aloisi, 34, said Wellington, which has announced an exhibition clash with David Beckham's LA Galaxy in December, has reinvigorated him.

Yet, he "can't hide the hurt" from his unceremonious axing by the club he "loved".

"It was quite clear from the beginning that I never wanted to leave Adelaide," revealed Aloisi, at United from 2003-07.

"If people were a little bit more honest it probably wouldn't have ended up this way. It hurts not to be part of Adelaide, I'm from Adelaide, my kids follow the side."

However he added: "I have nothing to prove, there is no bitterness towards the club."

Vidmar remains unfazed by the intimate Reds dossier Aloisi will hand Wellington.

"We are not too fussed about it," said Vidmar, adding former Auckland midfielder Jonas Salley could provide some "inside information" of his own.

"I think we have changed a fair bit from last year.

"He can give as much information as he likes on technical and tactical ability on certain players, it happens every week with every team by watching videos."

Aloisi intends to continue playing next season then hopes to forge a coaching career under highly qualified Phoenix mentor Ricky Herbert.

"It is the fittest I have been in the Australian competition. I knew Ricky Herbert would have a good squad, push for a top four position and I wanted to learn from him as well.

"The more coaches you learn under the better coach you will be."

The Reds have worked hard this week on the track addressing the scoring inertia that saw 34 penalty area entries finish without success against Newcastle.

"We are not just going to rely on Nathan Burns to score goals. We have to be more ruthless," conceded Vidmar. "When you get into those areas you have to put the ball away."

Brilliant forward Paul Agostino will travel in a 16-man Reds squad to Wellington despite carrying a badly corked calf.

Bobby Petta has aggravated his calf tear and will be sidelined for a further three weeks."

Didn't Salley want to stay in NZ though but he couldn't wait any longer? Bit harsh really.

Adelaide to win it comfortably 2-0. Nix to get a reality check.

Nix 1-0

Why would you give Salley sh*t? I thought the Nix had nothing to do with the Knights? But if you give him sh*t it's suggesting that the Nix do have something to do with the Knights?

Either way i don't care really just saying if you give him sh*t it's almost as if you're acknowlodging(sp??) a connection between the Nix and the Knights, which i thought almost everyone here was against...

Three for me, and two for them.

Salley was a god at the Knights and is quality.

However, some need to man up and stop being soft cocks. He dont play for us - so lets give him some sh*t.

To his pre-match rituals:

God wont save you, god wont save you, god wont save you from the Nix, god wont save you from the  Nix

Abuse should go to all non-phoenix players, regardless.

With a packet of sweets
and a cheeky smile,
Vidmar is a f**king peadophile!

I see where youre coming from and I partly agree but still don't think Salley deserves too much sh*t. Vidmar chants would be the best way to go :P

We should give him sh*t for being part of a crap team that brought down the name of footy in this country.

..So Salley can wait, he knows it's too late
(not sure where this Oasis tune is going)
