Great to see at least ten people wearing Nix gear when out walking around the inner city this morning

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Father in law is coming over at 1pm to do fire wood... have told the wife that under no circumstances will I not be finishing at 2:30 to firstly watch the pre match show and then the game.

They are free to do as they wish : )

Chainsaw/axe could be unacceptably noisy. Wouldn't be so liberal.

Probably not news to everyone on here, but the game is free to air on Prime from 3pm. A nice bonus for those of us who don't have Sky. Go, Nix!

Awesome day in Welly. Couldnt ask for better. Hopefully plenty of walk-up tickets help build a good crowd. Cant imagine we'll get anywhere near 24k like last time  - but with combo of Easter, school hols and Covid it was always going to be a big ask. We'll be there!!

- Elliot drops out of the squad with a Hamstring injury, Fenton takes his place in the Starting XI

Awesome to see a decent build up.

Would love to see this type of pre game all season next year if we get a proper season based in Welly.

What a grand sight: sun out, beautiful surface and a big home crowd.

Go Phoenix!

I hadn't realised how sharke the coverage was getting at the smaller grounds this season, but the camera angles at sky are such a nice change!

Positive early start from us. Pressure and a couple of corners.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Gah. Mariners are weathering us ok atm. Hope we put something in soon to stamp our authority on the game

Aagh, Fenton, you can't afford to give the ball away like that.

They’ve defended us much better than we’ve defended them. Two good looks for them after they scored.

Also they’ve clattered Piscopo so many times there’s been a yellow given and we haven’t clattered NKololo once.

That’s two yellows NKololo owes us. Took out Fenton in the air last time, clattered McGarry late there.

And no yellow for 3 attempted pro fouls there…

Old on for Fenton and move Payne to RB

Good comment from the panel that the overenthusiatic early 15-20 minutes from us were probably due to the team feeding off the  crowd energy, whereas they could have just kept their heads down and do "enough" in the box instead.

Really important we get at least a point out of this game just to keep CCM at arms length on the table. Unfortunately it does have the feel of one of those games where we get stung on the counter again.

Tim Payne is supposed to be now playing further upfield in midfield in a 2-2-2 setup but not sure how Surman can cope with being the lynchpin of the defence with Wooton.

If anything we look more disorganised now.

Sotirio used to doing that on waterlogged pitches where the ball sits up.

There is that feeling out there. At present CCM is laying a siege, so the midfield is not yet what it should be.

Not necessarily, but that was a classic counter gameplan from Montgomery.

Sad that we have lost for the good crowd. I think we have been pretty disappointing upfront.

This will tank the crowds next weekend.

God our defensive structure is so fragile, I expect teams to score with nearly every attack.

And they do again.

It is getting a bit late for any major strategy change from Talay, but at the moment anything that stops Nkololo and Urena would be useful.
