With no Australia Cup games (ALM clubs enter that comp 21st July) there is likely not such a need to get the pre season underway as early, as previous years.
Plus with no U20 WC this year, once pre season starts it won't be as disrupted as last year with 7-8 guys heading off for a month.

Be interesting to see if any guys are brought in to trial, like some of those who did well in the OFC Pro League. Matt Ellis has trialled twice before and he was one of the better AFC II players in the OPL. Someone will need to replace GSR.
Playing in the OPL would have been useful for GSR, helping him prepare for the A League. Going forward the OPL is gonna be a useful bridge between amateur domestic football and the A League. But GSR would have for sure got some chances last A League season if he wasn't injured nearly the whole time.
And yes if he pops up in Hong Kong (where is Brazilian football coaching Dad is) it wouldn't surprise.
