Apart from Payne and Piper, didn’t every kiwi who played for the Nix last season come from the acadamy?

Judging by many on here, it was also an injury ravaged season so surely there were plenty of minutes shared around as well?

One academy player leaving (when apparently there is a story there) and no transfer fees for a couple of years doesnt mean it’s not working.
LBS not an academy product...was playing for Cambridge FC then briefly Wanderers...and is probably the best young player on the books we have.  Luke Supyk another one recently released with only a handful of minutes over last few years.

Not sure NW is kicking on but had horrible spell with injuries so maybe give him benefit of the doubt.  Loke has been decent without many opportunities.  Cassidy also good player but limited opportunities since he signed. Must be hard for young players to not even make the bench each week.

Now is their chance. With Paulo Retre, Tim Payne, GSR, Luke Supyk gone, these others can get on. As regular substitutes at least. I imagine the club might want to focus new players budget on 4 new foreign midfield and attack. & beyond that, another centre back, 1 more attacker, 1 more defensive midfield. So the others could  join more. I doubt they want to spend more on bench players. Priority is adding main leaders in attack, midfield and a main goalkeeper, the bench is all but formed already apart from maybe 1 more experienced attacker.
