Compare this shark to Faghani. 6-7 players refereeing the game. Adelaide pausing the free kick after the whistle has gone to pace out the distance from the wall. 
I think this is the problem - Faghani wasn't great in my opinion but what he did do was manage the game - almost all the other officials just let the game do it's thing and then step in (or let VAR step in) when it boils over.


 
He set a standard and Auckland adapted quickly and a game happened. 
Keevers isn’t in control, and he’s giving inconsistent fouls. And LKH is very lucky on DOGSO. 

But you want a game in which the ref isn’t a factor and it’s the same for both sides.
yeah but he wasn't consistent within the game - I also think he had pre-determined that the first player to have a word was getting a card to set a standard - not a great way to approach things.

But back to topic - the referee is not the biggest problem today.
