Quite late to the post-match discussions lol, but I felt like I needed to post something considering it was my first Phoenix match in Christchurch since moving here.
Great turnout from Christchurch and everyone else who was travelling down or up for the game, was really nice to see that 14,064 attendance figure flash on the screen.
Two good games in a row for Nagasawa, that goal would've given him a higher boost in confidence, and he definitely showed it yesterday and was hard done by for not having at least one of his two penalty shouts awarded. Personally out of the two, I think the first one should have been a penalty more than the latter. That yellow card for Retre though was just pathetic.
Unlike others here, I wouldn't say the game was dire, in fact I would say that our overall performance was better than that game back at the Cake Tin against Newcastle a little while ago which was not a great win, but it is of course frustrating to drop points at home once again.
Since the match ended, there has been rain throughout the night, can still hear it now as I write this, so we can be grateful that the weather gods held off long enough for us to enjoy the match in calm, dry conditions.
