Personally, I don't think many players in this Nix side will make the club money (Only LBS really and he had a 50/50 game and is currently a bit slow).
If fact, only five kiwis have ever been sold for coin plus an Aussie (from memory). That's not a great return on investment when we've been around for donkeys years.
Do well, people want our players like last year, play sh!t and the scouts won't even turn up.
Does the club not see that by playing sh!t with another team now in the country result in fans hemorrhaging to the opposition.
My Waikato family (Dad excluded) who came with me to the game all supported AFC even though they were cheering on the Nix at Eden Park only a season ago. Don't forget the Waikato hates jafa land!

Re player sales the Academy has only been around about 10 years and at its current level (6-7 teams) about 5 years. I get 7 transfer fee sales. Singh, Libby, Waine, Fraser, Surman, Old and Paulsen.
Fraser excepted I think they were all around the first team 2-4 seasons before the overseas offers came in.
It’s way way too early to rule out Hughes, Walker, AKH, LKH, Candy, Conchie, Sheridan, Supyk etc. They are on huge learning curves. Surman barely played an ALM game in his 2nd Nix season, and if Chief had signed another visa CB as was rumoured at one point winter 2023, he may not have had his breakout 3rd season.
Think you have to time to Conchie especially in midfield. Rufer was maligned for years before really nailing his role there.
