Re LT01 comment above how do you navigate a disrupted pre season? How do you coach players, ingrain them in the game plan, if they are elsewhere overseas for large chunks of pre season, playing football for a national team?

Ain't no silver bullet. It's just obviously a bit easier when the club coach is already well familar with the players, and them with him, when they do return. More difficult when it's a completely new coach, who has has their own ideas and methods, plus doesn't know much about the players.


Having said that it wouldn't surprise if the next Nix head gaffer is the current assistant Adam Griffiths. Yesterday's woes aside he's building a pretty good record with defence systems first at WSW and now in Welly. "Defence wins Championships" - well when you score a few goals as well. If he got the job you'd want a good attack coach assistant though.
