Top game from the Nix. We really couldn’t ask for more in what has been a great season. Shame about not winning the plate tonight. That would have been great theatre in front of a big noisy local crowd. Living in Europe I don’t get to watch the Nix very often but I do have great memories from when I was living in Wellington. A question…… when did booming music become part of the match day experience? It didn’t happen in my day. The Yellow fever sounded loud and proud tonight….. surely they could have created a great atmosphere without hits from the 80s

The chanting and songs have kinda died out a little over the last couple of years, so this season they seem to have amped up the music a lot (maybe with better kit thanks to the WWC?).

Thats not a dig on the fever zone, I think it's more all the chants aren't well known anymore.  So outside of the zone not all of them get all the noise they could have.  I mean take me for example, I go to every game, and spend too much time on this forum, and there are chants I don't even know and have no idea where to go to find the words.

The problem is the people controlling the music just play what they play when they play it, as opposed to feeling the vibes.  The fever zone was being drowned out by the music.

If there was a period of time where the crowd died off, then it would make sense to use music to amp the crowd up.  But the we will rock you song was a great example where they should have eased the volume off and let the crowd take over.
