So was he blaming the dropping of the high line at half line for the three goals?

I think he was saying that they'd talked at half time about the mids dropping off the high line press earlier in some situations to help them manage the transition to defence better. But that they had got caught pressing when he'd intended for them to have dropped off.

His comments raise so many red flags. Why would you explain or justify your tactics to the media? Just say you were crap and talk about next week. You are gaining nothing by coming out with such dribble. Why tell anyone what your tactical thinking is?

I've watched the highlights, and the game was as bad as I remember. 

Whatever Phoenix are trying to achieve with this high line is not giving them any advantage.  Half the skill of football is surprise and initiative, and the Phoenix have none.

We should have been dead and buried in that game within 15 minutes.
