I have to put up my hand and say that I also thought our injuries to our experienced players forced Italiano to have a less experienced younger squad (apart from Rufer etc).  However, in the sobering light of the morning, I remembered that Newcastle also had a bunch of younger, energetic players on the field that simply made fewer errors (apart from wasteful shooting early in the game when they could have been two up in the first ten minutes) than our guys did.
