I'm not on twitter.  Did he mention who scored our goals?
Starting lineup according to Rollo was: Esson; Walker, Barry, Van der Meer; Nunn, Pijnenburg, Jale, Elliott; Anthony, Woods, Benson.

And Mackenzie Anthony scored both goals

Without Vlok.
No sign of Fraser is a worry.

Looks like Maggie Jenkins got both there goals. I'm sure Bev Priestman would have taken notice of that.

Would absolutely not panic on our end. Was just a friendly game to keep up fitness, and honestly Auckland Uniteds team has more ex-pros that amateurs, they are better than some ALW teams and high time the Knights and APL sorted out their license for the comp so these players can move to their side.

A bit scrappy but good workout against a decent team. Particularly impressed with Anthony who had a solid all round game. Walker excellent at the back. Jale her usual composed self and Nunn was always threatening. Brazendale unlucky to hit the bar with a mid range shot.

Dont know her name but Pynenberg’s second half replacement did a pretty good  Annalie Longo job in the middle.

If there’s room I’d get Anthony on the roster for next year. Best ive seen her play - linked really well with Walker and Nunn.

The Wellington Phoenix have recognised their standout players, staff, volunteers and fans at the club’s annual awards night at Fraser Park.

Mackenzie Barry, who holds the club record for most appearances in the women’s A-League, received the prestigious Lloyd Morrison Spirit of the Phoenix award, while teammate Grace Jale won the Entelar and OPPO women’s Player of the Year.

Grace Jale extends for next season.

Was probably a matter of time once Barry re-signed but great to get it done, the move to CM has been a revelation for her.

I agree. She deserves the best player award she got last night. Has gone to another level this year. Great re-signing.

I wonder how those Julie Dolan points are awarded, because no Nix player in the top 8 is a travesty.

I guess they tried to make it up with Vlok and Nunn’s awards.

Anyway great season, great team and with Woodsy injured and the Nix boys imploding, good to see the women do amazing things.

It's a 3-2-1 system of experts (they explained the type of people during the awards) per game. Likely a wide range of Wahnix got votes, no one absolutely head and shoulders above consistently. It would be interesting to see all the votes or at least tallies for each club.

Its separate from the Clare Polkinghorne medal which operates basically the same model but administered and voted on by the broadcaster - which Rebekah Stott won and she was PFA team of the season captain getting most votes from players. A bit different from the Julie Dolan, Stott not in the top 8 either.

Hi all, what a great time it was following the Wahinix over the season. They really saved my overall experience of the club last season, given the men had a tough one, and they certainly added huge value to the overall Nix brand. It was especially good to share that with my young football-mad daughter, and the experiences for families and kids at the Porirua Park games were great. It's been such a nice vibe there (and that semi-final - wow). The players are all so nice and great with the kids. Perfect ambassadors really.

I was just wondering if anyone had a good overview of what is happening with them all now as the A-League offseason is here. Are they still based and training at the Nix, loaned to other clubs for the season (NZ, Australia or elsewhere?), off to holiday or non-football work?

It would be good to have some sort of off-season summary or monitor of what they are all doing to keep the interest up.

A really good review of the teams season from The Niche Cache https://theniche-cache.com/football/2026/6/1/the-wellington-phoenixs-2025-26-a-league-season-in-review

In there at the end they mention for the younger ones. Likely they will end up playing in the reserves.

"Bangalan and Neary will settle back into Reserve team footy over the winter as they (and many of their teammates) prepare for September’s U20 World Cup. Grace Bartlett has already taken that option by joining Auckland United. Lily Brazendale, Harriet Muller, and Zoe Benson were all on youth contracts but all are still young enough to stick around with the Reserves as well."
I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Proving the point, Neary, Bangalan and Lily Brazendale all played in Friday’s Kate Sheppard Cup game against Wellington United.
