That was a bit of a step backwards by the girls. First half was good. But second half Adelaide came out put pressure on us up the field (targeted McMeechen not surprisingly) and just waited for us to make mistakes. Which we did plenty.
We didn't change or adjust. Kept trying to play out from the back. Not sure if that was a coaches directive to keep playing out under pressure. But sometimes I felt we just needed to play long to relieve that pressure.
Big learnings. Some of the decision making playing out was poor. Often players had space in front of them and options but decided to turn and play to a player that was under more pressure than them.
I guess you only learn from experience. But was frustrating to watch. And easy pickings for Adelaide.
Also felt like after last weeks win, we lacked that same intensity and desire.
These last two games are going to be season defining for me.
