The team has improved leaps and bounds as we come to the end of their second season in the A-League.
I am not sure if the team management record stats on the games and does its anaylsis on them. Every game I have watched Chloe Knott passes away more than 50% of her forward passes. She has a great work rate and fitness and tackle count, but it does not offset the amount of times she loses possession for the team. Replace her with T. Walker for the Melbourne game and I am confident the team can get a win.
Can't say I'd noticed bad passing from Knott especially. I'd like to see Gomez in there, but she seems out of the equation.
Will be interesting selection to see who comes back in. Van der meer will come in for Cicco I'd say. No reason not to give Candy another run either. She didn't have huge amounts to do,but she showed a few signs she may deal with aerial stuff better than Edwards. Satchell, Robertson, Rolston, Pritchard ??? To be honest we've seen plenty of them this season, but Satchell will probably start in front of Lancaster. I'd like to see Main play at least a half for sure.
I think Edwards has had a fine season, so I think she will be back in, despite Candy's good showing. The front line selection will be very interesting.

I disagree. Chloe's passing in the midfield has improved the team heaps from last season.
Fair enough, hopefully i have done a reverse jinx on her and she has a blinder. :)
I had noticed that as well, poor passing from Knott, earlier in the season. I haven't watched the most recent few games as closely so maybe has improved. This shows her passing lower than median but not terrible, but her defensive actions are high https://fbref.com/en/players/351b754f/Chloe-Knott
Ah thanks @bullion that stats website is awesome. I guess my original comment was pointing to forward pass completion. She does have a tidy back pass and flat pass. So with that mix makes sense her overall completion rate is just below the average player. I am probably just being a bit picky. Fingers crossed for Saturday.Bullion

Knott and Wisnewski disappointing. And we need a keeper that can deal with the aerial stuff. I've said that about a thousand times, don't see why Csndy didn't start. Give Main a run.And Walker.
Wasn't able to watch the second half but oh my god where did this come from? We now still won't be able to avoid the wooden spoon, but yeah we've affected Victory.
A few further points - shocking "wall" for the first goal, and Edwards' effort was worse. - great equaliser, Wisnewskis done really well. The Melbourne keeper really should have had that though - Emma Main looks good. Id pencil her in next years squad before a few others.
Emma Main heavily involved in both goals. Has had huge impact coming on as a sub in last two games. Time to do a long review of everything Nix women, including pre season. For a start would be good to see a lot of these girls playing in the NZ domestic competition particularly the fringe players, And some of the regulars should be targeting Australia's NPLW if they are ok to spend time in Austalia like Steinmetz and Jale. And cast a wide net for next years coach. Gareth Turnbull should be a front runner for me, if we can draw him away from Melbourne Victory.
A Nix youth team being in the NZ Womnen's National League, plus the JV ending with NZF, will definitely see changes in recruitment and hopefully an improved pathway to the senior ALW team.
With those changes Lawrence could make an agrument to be given another season, to see how she goes especially with recruitment being more under her control.
