Team has stayed in Sydney following the Jets game, so hopefully we see a much better effort from the team.

Venue has been changed the Kogarah cuz of pitch issues. Free entry, no ticket required if you are in Sydney.

Looks like Sydney trains will be on strike from Thursday to Sunday (6am Sunday so should be running for the Men's match) - but it might be more difficult to get to the game on Friday

Rose, who runs The Ladies League pub, is taking registrations of interest for a 3:30pm and 4pm shuttle to Kogarah. If anyone is looking for an option to get to the game.

Hoping to see more Wall and less Elliot for this one.

🔥 🔥 Fire Up 🔥🔥

Today's the day we can get the season back on track!

And it looks like the Sydney train strike has been avoided!

I totally missed this bit of good news from Temps yesterday:

"Captain Annalie Longo is in the squad for Friday after scans cleared her of a fracture or concussion after a heavy collision against the Jets, although she may have to wear a protective mask.
“She is a chance of featuring. She was out there training with the team yesterday, so that’s really good.
“She’s cleared of concussion, cleared of fractures, so there’s no danger to her playing."

Playing it around nicely, but too much going back.  Too quick to take the backwards option, reluctant to hit it forwards, and they are giving the forwards absolutely nothing.

Yeah we're not playing badly, and certainly not under the pressure Jets applied to us last week.

Surprising given Adelaide have made a strong start to the season, but perhaps that's will be reflected if their forwards are sharper than ours across this game.

I was about to say both teams could be out there all day without scoring, but we somehow scramble one in.

Tanaka showing a spark of forward play at least, but our pointy end is looking very blunt.

Stats say we have had 15 shots. I think are being quite generous with what qualifies as a "shot".

Still, we are winning, let's hope for better things from here

There were three or four other times we could've scored, we've been creative enough to deserve a goal. Sure we're not particularly sharp but we're creating plenty and shown a heck of a lot more attacking intent than Adelaide

Pleased for McCutcheon too, the season is young but she's been one of our best so far. Hard-working, technical and generally makes good decisions.

What can we do to change up personnel? 30 minutes is too long for desperate defense.

Yeah we've been a bit defensive... just tiring a bit. Good we've made changes at least, finish one of those breakaway chances and we'll be a lot more comfortable

Get in!! It wasn't a perfect showing but we were the better team and really needed that 3pts. And this time it's them not us with 0 shots on target

That's the result we needed! Got a bit worrying there near the end but stoked for the 3pts!

Hopefully this kick starts the season

Great to finally get that win and a clean sheet to boot. Clear progress but a long way to go still.

Ref seemed to think she was at a rugby game, some bizarre non-calls both ways throughout.

Yeah I couldn't believe she didn't stop play when Vilão was clattered in injury time

A good battling win for the team

McCutcheon looked better sitting deeper

Looking like a different team with the traditional 4 at the back. Having Brazendale there allowing McCutheon to probe further forward works. Jaber with an excellent showing and Barry great in that more traditional two CB role. Good competition for places now. Thought Ingham, Tanaka and Ferguson were excellent in the first half. Good to see the coaching staff shake it up after some disappointing results.  Thought we were the better team over 90mins so well deserved win.

Tanaka with some great deliveries from corners- looking more likely to score when whipped in around 6yrds out instead of just at the penalty spot.
Young left winger could’ve had two but couldn’t quite control ball bouncing higher towards her.
Ferguson had great energy with more sprints than I have seen in years, but sharke she must have done a press and then been gutted to see her team mates are 3 seconds and 15m too slow to press the next player to receive the ball. Heaps more work needed to coordinate the press. Hopefully the players react to being dropped and the starters retain their spots as they deserve to after tonight’s performance.
McMeeken seemed a little slow tonight, several times I thought she had a ball covered and then the opponent beat her to the ball and was beaten for pace with players running around outside of her a few times tonight. I thought she was quicker than that.
Defence was pretty water tight which was great, and Vilao seemed to have an edge to her - aside from the first half attempt to knock the ball to the side of the striker when she should have cleared the back pass first time.
Barry for captain in her last season for us.
The 4231 is the best formation for us for all games and personnel.
Would be great to see Perez get a game entry for last 15 or so soon. Dos Santos sisters at Sydney show that age is no barrier to being a starter if she’s ready.

That's an impressive bruise

Took one for the team but EXTREMELY disappointed no punishment was given to the perpetrator, even retrospectively. A blatant elbow.

Well done everyone. Agree with a lot of the comments above. I thought Wall at left back also did a fine job, defending and getting forward. Looking forward to seeing if the good play will carry over into the next game.

One of those from Ingham was a chest down to Ferguson that she really should have scored from.

Impressed with all of the back four. Barry looks fitter and quicker to me.
Whinham is not a good shooter, and whilst she looked good last year when alongside Fraser, Im not yet convinced shes a shoe in.
The concern now is surely the shooting ability, it was all very powder puff. And Main should really have closed that game out when she went through miles clear.

The back 4 did a great job against a powerful forward line.
There was obviously some cramping and tired legs in the last quarter with the heat and short turnaround.
If we only had forwards that could finish we would be winning these games comfortably!
