Good win. Some determined defence second half, well done to Barry, Esson, Walker and Wall.
Bott was a great influence.

Would have been easier if Main and Elliott had banged their chances away, but compared to yesterday's game we were brilliant.

Wellington Phoenix women are on the board in the A-League, thanks to a 38th-minute goal from teenage star Pia Vlok.

Wellington defeated heavyweights Melbourne Victory 1-0 at Porirua Park on Sunday afternoon in their third match of the 2025/26 season.

Vlok's goal makes her the youngest-ever scorer for the Phoenix women, beating Milly Clegg's record by one day.

Great win! Still plenty to work on hope we have Samba and Leon back soon.   But nice for us to upset the table toppers and get our first win over them.

Thought the TV commentator for this game was very good. Who was it.

First half was great. Thought we played some excellent football. Momentum shifted in the second half. They obviously came out with more intent and having the wind at there backs probably helped. I thought the Bott and Jale midfield continued improvement and looks like they could be a real force. With our solid back line we will be a hard team to beat. The next month with a bunch of away games will be a good yard stick though. Good now to have a week off so injured players can get back in the fold. Surely we will be looking at some injury replacements. I'd like to see them bring in Maggie Jenkins to training to trial. Would she offer more up front than Main?

I wouldn't have picked her as a midfielder but am loving her combativeness and willingness to impose herself onto the opponent.

I think she is a half-decent striker, but under pressure to gets goals takes a few too many shots from low percentage positions. In midfield, this didn't look like a problem; get in there, win the ball, move it on and support the attack.

Yellow fever also on particularly good form this game. So much more fun when the stadium small enough to hear the chants. Well done all
