Seem strange to say this so early in the season but its an absolutely must win. After this game, we are not at Home again until the 20th Dec.

Also - Ella Mccann wasn't listed as being injured in earlier weeks right. I hope this isn't a new injury - she was coming back from an ACL that she did last September I believe.

Jaber,Fraser and Leon yet to be seen.

Middag hardly seen.

I'm afraid I'm not bullish about our team yet, based on what I've seen so far.

F..k that's just crap. Including Fraser our midfield has been gutted. Do we have any other creative midfielders in the team ?
This club just doesn't get a break. Tough.

Middaag has history with that injury, ACL injuries seem to be pretty common in womans football so its not just us having problems. Whinhams on Sunday looked pretty innocuous when it happened look like she got her studs caught in the surface.

Gutted for the team, and the two players especially. Alyssa is a massive loss with Fraser on leave. She leaves only Mac Barry as a remainder of our 2021 side who've been Nix constants I think.

Yes with these injuries it suddenly seems what was looking like being a very promising season now doesn't seem quite so likely - which is a bummer as they looked good a couple of games in. If the team overall can push through this then they'll be legends. So tragic for those injured - Middag had been OK for about 5 years - so that's got to be especially gutting for her. Hopefully Marisa Van Der Meer's recovery will be some encouragement to Alyssa Whinham to hang in there. But some injury signings would look to be essential from here. Hopefully some good pick-ups and/or opportunities for up-and-comers to make their mark.

Well,I'm only an ex player and now spectator , but I was amazed on sunday when Whinham went back on the field after her injury.

I too am an ex-player with an ACL rupture in my past.  ACL tears can be tricky to detect, to feel, within one's own body.  Ligaments have fewer nerve endings compared to muscles.  Ligaments perform a passive role.  If you tear or pull a muscle, simply flexing the muscle, will allow you to feel the injury.  Pull a hammie, you'll know you've done it.  Tear an ACL and you might think "Fc*k, that was excruciating", then you'll move your leg (not under load) and it might feel completely alright, you'll stand on it and it's fine ('cause at that point the ACL is not doing anything, it's not under load), so you'll go for a bit of a jog in a straight line and everything is fine (your muscles are largely providing the stability at that point and they haven't been damaged), so you go back on the field, and then it's only at the point where the ACL needs to provide stability to the knee joint under exertion, at the end of the range of movement, that it isn't there to do its job and you'll know you've done something not very nice inside your knee.
football tragic for too long

Thats even more reason surely for the medical staff to be ultra careful in allowing a player to play on especially given the history of ACLs in the Womans game.

Playing well.

They had more players in Melbourne's box in general play for that goal than the men managed all game yesterday.

Elliott's been a real threat, and had a great half, but should have scored there.

We have done better than I expected.
Jale and Bott doing well to find the wide players.

Should be 2-0.

Not meaning to be too critical, but I've never seen Brazendale do anything to suggest she offers more than a bit of energy towards the end of games. Am I missing something, or is that the whole point?
