Comments on Dub Zone think we might hold leg 1 of the semi here in Wgtn.
Reasoning being that means the team only cross the Tasman once before the second leg. Rather than twice.
Not sure if anything has been locked in yet.
Seems silly. Much greater benefits of playing the second leg at home (ie extra time / pens at home rather than away)
No they were referring to the amount of travel before the second leg game.
If we play the second leg in Wellington then we have to travel to Aus and then travel back to Wellington before that game. Where as our opponent will only need to cross the Tasman once pre game. I'm not sure how much the international flights affect the teams. will depend who play I guess and how much travel is involved.
But yes otherwise second leg at home has other benefits.
Didn't work out for the men a few seasons back after getting a draw in Melbourne in the first leg, extra time and all in the second leg here.
