The back end of that half the momentum was probably with Roar. We're not putting pressure on Jansen at all, Walker is just prepared to allow Jansen to pick a pass rather than potentially getting skinned, problem is that Walker is not stopping dangerous balls from Jansen.

We’re taking that as a compliment, cheers!

Roar 10 shots, Nix 5 at half time sort of shows how the match has gone. Bev wont like the way we are letting them camp in our half.
Midfield needs to take control and hold the ball rather than try and make low percentage passes forward.
We need more Nunn and play with more width. Roar are a good team so even a point away would be ok.
Shout out for the venue. Looks great with the big crowd really close to the pitch. Im so over big empty stadiums for A League games.

First half looked pretty helter skelter at times. Roar playing with alot of intensity with the crowd behind them. Hope they run out of steam soon.
We look best going down the wide right channel. Anyone's game this.
Come on girls...you can do this.

That's a bloody good save. Never easy playing away in Brisbane but we do look like a team that hasn't played for a month.

We are just holding on here. Team looks really rusty after a month off

The three passes we managed from the goal kick were quite literally the first successful passes we've completed in nearly 10 minutes. Can't see us surviving without subs very soon.

Really risky to bring on a debutant for a visa player in a game like this.
What's Bev up to.

I’d like to think we’re hanging back but  they’re bossing the midfield and we’re looking under more pressure than necessary…and damn there it is

And its 2-1. That goal was coming. Sloppy defending
Nix really need to get more composure. They must hold onto the ball and slow the match down.
Big call bringing on a AL debutant in a semi final playoff.
Nice to see Vlok on.
2-1 is not great but 3-1 would be a disaster

Our passing is absolutely dreadful. It's very frustrating to watch.

There’s not playing for a month, and there’s looking like it’s the first game of the season. Bev backed the team over the 180 - let’s hope that plays out next week if we can lock this down for the last 10

Glad we saved Fraser for the last 89 seconds (+360)

We're still in with a chance, but tonight was a massive wake-up call for next weekend.

2-1 is one hell of a lot better result than what we played.

Really not sure what was going on in midfield.

Absolutely take 2-1 after how we played. Really struggled on transition and no possession play to speak of but playing at the might Jerry Collins Stadium is a different proposition.
Might sound strange but I think Brisbane will be somewhat disappointed with that result

That could have been a lot worse with the way we played in the second half.
Plenty still to play for back a Porirua park next weekend.

Could've been worse. That is wasn't was thanks to some terrific saves by Esson. Good to have the away leg over and done with and at least we have a difficult competitive game behind us which should sharpen us up for next week.

Think we can count ourselves very lucky to only be down by a goal for the second leg. That was a hard watch!

We kept them from making a lot of all that possession and territory,  at home. So I’m not sure we were lucky, but bloody happy we got the early goal.

That's now 9 straight finals games without a win for the Wellington Phoenix (A-League Men and A-League Women inclusive).

Yes, There is nothing more certain in football than watching the Nix fail to win in a finals game.
That game was a big wake up for the team. TBH they were very poor. Only scrambling defense and some poor Roar decision making kept it to 2-1. There is work to do in every area but particularly in midfield. We got completely outplayed in there. No composure on the ball and no accuracy in passing.
I have faith in Bev to sort it by next weekend but the Roar can afford to play deeper and not take risks.
Should be a cracking game

Back from the watch party. Had a good crowd in for it.  Good to see Greenie, Siggy and some of the injured Wahinix.  Everyone loved the first goal, were groaning when Woods missed and then it was a tough old watch for the rest of the match. Esson made some good saves but as it has been, the passing has been atrocious and we always seem to find a Brisbane player.  We deserved to lose that match.  Hard to see us overturning the result if we play like this again.  We haven't won at Porirua park since the 25th of January and lost the last two so Brisbane will fancy their chances.

What a shitty weekend of results - Auckland win, Melbourne City women win, Wrexham don't make the playoffs and the Wahinix lose.

We gave Vic the plaque for PotM, even if Holly did have to pass it to her over the top of the fence.

Looking forward to a much better performance from the team next weekend!

Fraser should have been on much earlier.  She can control midfield play.  She should be a starter next week.

At the airport wating for the flight home. Another trip to Brisbane without a friggen W.
We just couldnt handle their changes when their injury sub came on. Didnt help we just kept trying to makes passes that were continually cut off.
Also disgraceful they watered the pitch pre game it was really wet underfoot down that end hence all the divets.
Think the our girls will bring it in the return match.
Dont think i have seen Macca make so many misreads in a game before.

I dont understand whats going on with Fraser, something must be up. If shes fit and well enough to be on the bench she has to be worth more than 2 mins.

Anyhow, I really dont understand why we started Anthony AND Woods.  Service to them was certainly poor, but Woods did even less than Anthony, there was a total inability to hold the ball up.  I would have replaced Woods with Brazendale at least at half time - we clearly needed more in midfield.

As someone else said, this whole watering the pitch before the game thing is insane - there is a time it may be necessary, but they seem to do it everytime and we see players slipping over.

Could be a better surface means a game of football and they don’t fancy that?

I think Bev got things right which showed with the early goal and other close calls.
What happened  was Brisbane had to make an early injury replacement and we couldnt deal with the the changes they made to how they were playing.
We wernt helped by some lack of calls by the ref and our players inability to execute to a decent standard and to many misreads at the back.
