I had the pleasure and privilege of being coached by Colin when he was player / coach of Tawa.

A real gentleman with a great sense of humour.

My condolences to his family.

RIP Colin.

A wee bit more info courtesy Barry Smith:

Colin Latimour, New Zealand’s footballer of the year in 1967 and its only Burma-born international, came here as a three year old, taking up football on starting secondary school at Auckland Grammar.

Senior football career began with Ponsonby with whom he won a Northern League Premier championship in 1967.

That same year he made his New Zealand debut in Vietnam in 1967 against Australia and went on to play 25 matches for his country and a similar number for Auckland in a period when Auckland frequently faced visiting teams from Britain and Europe.

When the National League began in 1970 he switched allegiance to Eastern Suburbs starting in every match for four years in a row.

His top class career ended effectively with a job transfer away from Auckland but he continued to show his ability in regional football with Whangarei City and later Tawa in Wellington.
