All Whites striker Chris James is close to signing with Danish Superliga club Lyngby BK.

The 20-year-old has been part of the Fulham academy for the past few years, but has been unable to break into the first team at the English Premier League club.

James has been on trial with several clubs around Europe, and was contacted by Lyngby after a tip-off from former Fulham player Claus Jensen.

Danish newspapers have reported that the young New Zealander impressed the former Danish international enough during their time at Craven Cottage for him to recommend James to his old club.

The Wellington-born James has both English and New Zealand passports, and represented England 31 times at junior level before committing to his country of birth. James made his debut for the All Whites in last year's friendly game against Brazil.

Lyngby is currently languishing at the bottom of the Superliga and is hopeful James will overcome its shortage of goal-scoring ability. So far this season the team has only found the net 12 times in 15 games.

If James moves to Denmark, he will become the second New Zealander in the Superliga. Aucklander Winston Reid has been earning credible reviews at FC Midtjylland, in the domestic league and the Uefa Cup.
