Three fewer players at Leicester after they fire three for sexual misconduct on the club's post-season tour to Thailand.

Includes the gaffer's son, James.

A British paper got hold of a sex tape involving fringe first teamers loaned out last season in the lower leagues: defender Pearson at Wrexham, goalkeeper Smith at Mansfield and striker Hopper at Scodhorpe. Pearson and Smith are 22 and Hopper is 21.

Involved in an orgy with Thai prostitutes and there were some racial slurs in the footage.

The club is of course owned by father and son Thai businessmen and has sponsorship from the Thai government tourist bureau.

Well, three fewer players means more space for Chris Wood on the roster (one of them Hopper is a striker aged 21 and if he was on loan and on a post-season tour with the first team, then that suggests they were interested in retaining him).

Plus more importantly ,as the NZ Herald article says, the club are being praised for handling the incident well and taking immediate action - which as people say in the article, doesn't always happen. Made more difficult for all concerned since the managers' son was involved. Nigel Pearson apparently is a patron and campaigner for the "Kick It Out" anti-racism movement.

Most Foxes fans seem to back the sacking and many have been having their say publically.

It's a major international news story and a New Zealander plays for them - was Chris on that tour to Thailand?

It was on CNN and BBC World the other day (they didn't show the video).

The Mirror and other muck-raking sites have posted the sex video but I think that's wrong (even though these three moron players were so thick they sent it to their mates and it got spread around the web).

Yeah, regardless of whether he was on the tour, I'm not sure the "well, at least I wasn't involved in an orgy" defence is going to cut it for Wood though. Leicester just don't seem to think he's ready for the Premiership. He'll either not get game time for them or have to leave.

I think he needs to drop down a level to a Championship team, be Barry big bollocks and carry a team to the Premier League. If I was Wood, I'd be getting on my bike to Middlesbrough or Burnley. Opportunities there.

The only thing with that though is that when he has been with Championship teams, he has not been Barry big bollocks. He has still come off the bench for most of those teams.

If he has not realised it, his career path is not in the Premier League and he would be smart to solidify his career in the Championship. Its a tough pill to take, but get paid to do nothing in the Premier League or at least be a participant in the Championship.

Tend to agree with you. I watched quite a bit of championship footy last year. From what I saw i'm not sure Wood is quite yet to the level of Patrick Bamford, Daryl Murphy, Troy Denney, half of the Bournemouth team, Jerome Cameron or even someone raw like Britt Assombalonga.

I do think that he still has the potential though. Just needs regular games and to dominate a division IMHO.

I think thats a fair point - he needs game time. He has had bits here and bits there. Teams take him on loan and then he gets called back. There seems to be teams that want him but then never play him. I just find it odd. Maybe they sign him on what they think they are potentially getting and once they have him, realise its something else?

rumours rumours Wood is back on the table with Wolves on discount from last years failed offer. I can't think of a better transfer for him to be honest.

Yeah - Wolves should be strong enough to push for at least play offs. Wood would practically be the senior striker with Benik Afobe - who looked really good in the highlight packages I saw of him.

I don't care where he goes as long as he gets week-in week-out football.

It's got to be his priority.

Rumour that Leeds are prepared to offer 2.5 million pounds for Chris, which if true and it went ahead would maybe make him the most expensive NZ player in history? Transfer fees were lower in Wynton Rufer's day.

Supposedly  Wolves, Fulham and QPR are also interested:

From West Brom to Leicester City was 1.0M to 1.5M GBP.

As a Leeds fan I'd be stoked, we've got a decent manager now but I have a feeling a feeling that he won't be the first kiwi at Elland Road since Danny "Tin Man" Hay.

Also, we are probably the biggest side in the Championship, so if he signed on and we managed to go up, I can quickly see him being demoted/bench warming like Hay did before him.

Leeds are the Liverpool of the Championship, right? Keep saying how big they are, but haven't done anything for a while?

Leicester looking a strong profit on the transfer, which surprises me a tad given his very limited opportunities to shine in the past two seasons

The fans of Leeds have been screwed over so many times by ownership woes. Think the Jets x 1000.

Risdale screwing them with the debt, Bates just looking to make a buck off their historical name and Cellino is probably the worst of them.

Still, I like them because they are like a feeder club for Norwich City (Howson, Johnson, Snodgrass... Becchio, not so much).

They are a genuinely big club though. Good academy. Just need the right owners and investment.

Through much of his life, Wood suffered from addiction to drugs and alcohol, which were initially attributed to a fear of flying.[2] Tortured by his wife’s serial infidelity while immersing himself in musical experimentation, Chris turned to more drink and drugs for solace. When a liver disease was identified, indulgences were stopped, though the medication produced even more devastating effects that most people (and even close friends) wrongly interpreted – none knowing the internal agony Chris was living with.[4] His wife Jeanette, from whom he had separated, at the age of 30, from the effects of a seizure. Wood was profoundly affected by her death.

Yikes.

Hopefully with his signing bonus for Wolves/Leeds he can pay someone to write coherent sentences on his Wikipedia page.

HAhaha yes I am that scummy assistant to the manager - I was sure that it retained the provision "only at lunchtime" and only came up while reminiscing about the certain addiction said 'manager' had to stuff.co.nz for 4 years before rising to his glorious new position. Shark it isn't his birthday today is it? ......
