England vs Canada

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jun/23/en...

The fact the hosts are coached by John Herdman, a 39-year-old Newcastle United supporter from Consett in County Durham only adds to the fascination of a game Sampson hopes can “inspire the next generation” of female footballers in England.

I think Aussie bidding for 2023

Expect a bid for the 2023 finals from this area of the world. Oz are very keen, and we were among the initial contenders for 2019 before withdrawing from contention - too close to NZ 2015.

The WWC Finals hosts also host the FIFA U20 WWC Finals the year prior, similar to how the WC hosts have the Confederations Cup the year prior.

France has already been confirmed as hosts of WWC 2019.

Cheers from Montreal,

JR

Viewing figures in UK for game v Canada over 1.5 mill despite midnight k.o. What number if they make the final?

Cracking US win (2-0) over Germany. Alex Morgan can put her boots under my bed any time she likes.

If you couldn't think refereeing could get any worse than the A-League, just remember that there are female refs out there ..

There's no place for sexist abuse like this on these forums. Have some time off.

Massive hypocrites. You condone other forms of abuse, particularly personal online abuse directed at other members (which i see nearly every time I'm on here). I don't understand why you remain selective in what forms of abuse to punish.

And lol at you all lining up to 'this' those replies like a bunch of goody do gooders.

Ok. Here's what I said...

I posted what I did knowing it was stupid and that it would get a reaction. But what I find funny is that only some forms of abuse get punished, whiles others don't. Sexism, racism, cyber bullying in general should all be punished here, but they're not.

happy now?

We should also punish self-abuse.  Apart from making you go blind it also makes you vote for the Conservative Party.  Or so I've been told.

I don't think Mods should let their personal bias interfere with their role. What AJ said was pretty innocuous really. I don't think many took it seriously did they? Just the usual suspects [see the W League thread].'

Mods will no doubt remove posts based on their personal values (rather than bias as such).  I don't find their responses too harsh (I've sailed close to the banstick on a few occasions), but then others might do so if they hold different values.

I usually don't take AJ13's posts too seriously - most of the time they are taking the piss. But why post a deliberately inflammatory post earlier and then follow it up with "I posted what I did knowing it was stupid and that it would get a reaction."?

That's just like saying I deliberately posted a racist/sexist/anti-semitic rant to get a reaction.  Sometimes even a smiley face at the end doesn't make it appropriate.

I left it up and responded to it to make it clear to anyone reading that we don't tolerate sexism on these forums.

Casual racism is still racism, and by the same token, causal sexism (like the joke) is still casual sexism.

I won't be making any more comment in this thread on the matter (let's keep it on topic), head to the Whining about Mods thread if you still have an issue.
