Anyone Check klast Saturdays powerball results? Shows how fudgeed up their new idea is. if you had 3 numbers and the power ball you got $12. If you had 3 numbers and the bonus number and the powerball you got only $9 and if you got 4 numbers but not the bonus number as one of them, you got $11. WTF. Despite being sharkarse prizes anyway, what the hell were they smoking when they came up with this brainstorm??

How can you get less money for getting more numbers?

I assume it's because before the draw they lay out the prize pools, and then it is just split between however many winners at each level :)

They should have kept it simple but like the FFA, they have gotten too greedy and the punter gets less or ripped.

seems simple enough to me?

Prize pool divided by number of winners.

Yeah I get that, but I meant it more in the sense of how have lotto allocated their prize pools so that could happen?

Surely they would generally set it up so that the value of the prizes would go up the more numbers you get. A lotto draw involves thousands and thousands of people buying tickets, most of which are randomly selected, which means that effectively all numbers should be evenly represented in the total pool. For the lower prize levels, the approximate number of winners should be relatively easy to predict - number of total lines of lotto sold times the percentage odds of selecting 3 numbers plus the powerball (or whatever the combination is). So basically lotto should just allocate enough money to each prize level that it would take a ridiculous statistical anomaly to have something like this happen. Of course, maybe it was a ridiculous statistical anomaly, like monkeys hitting a typewriter and coming up with a Shakespeare play, or the Nix scoring from a corner.

I would presume that is the case, BUT on the odd occasion even random numbers can end up with a combination of less numbers (3) coming up less than the combination with more numbers (3+B), it shouldn't happen often, if it does their system is set-up badly, but I would presume it is set-up as above, has just had a rare occurance where (3+B) is on more lines than (3)

Speaking to a Lotto agent he is really hacked off and said they are getting massive flack over it. Seems the clowns at lotto decided to rejig the prize pools without really thinking about it. The $12 prize with 3 numbers and the powerball is a fixed amount of $12 every draw. But how they think its okay to get 3 numbers and the bonus and the powerball and get $11 is nuts.

There was nothing wrong with the layout for 15 years or more, why fudge around with it? Village idiot ideas. I dont even think they needed to do the Powerball thing. It just makes it 7 numbers and not 6 that you have to get to get the big prize.

yeah, as I said it's just like how if you put enough random corners into the area one will eventually lead to a Vinnie Lia goal

The hacking collective Anonymous has begun its promised leak of the identities of members of the Ku Klux Klan with a data dump of the names of more than 350 alleged members along with links to social media accounts...

...Former leader David Duke is listed in the release; so is Don Black, the founder of the white supremacist site Stormfront.

So I got Spotify 3 months ago as part of my phone plan and I was not interested in it but my son convinced me to used and showed me how and I was quite impressed. 70s rock lives on...

However

I know we had some weird names back in the day like The Beatles, The Who, Wings, Led Zeppelin - we even had The Doobie Brothers but there was one that popped up this week that I went "what?"  - wetty fap (or sweaty wap or something like that)

How... What?

Poor National Party MPs have missed out on tbeir Xmas bash. Rent a mob showed up and ruined the mood. And our beloved PM whom only wants good news decided to give it a miss.  Coward,  face the music. Not that I endorse rent a mob but some of their points are valid.

Not sure if that is a backhanded compliment or a true reflection on those before him. If it is the latter, you are probably quite correct at this stage

I've been watching a bit of on demand TV recently and for some reason in an ad break of 4 you'll often get the same ad repeated 4 times. That stupid orange election thingy is the worst. Screw him, and his pavlovas with the flags on them.

Then I started switching to watching Aus TV on demand and it's even worse (i..e more common).

Why hmm? He fully deserves it. Single-handedly won Britain the Davis Cup.

It is not about achievement, it is about personality and Murray unless he has had some sort of radical personality change in the last six months, has a rep for being a bit of a bad tempered prick, so too his partner at one tennis event.

From Stuff. This is what we have been saying for how many years? I think it is quite an accurate observation. Love the council bit at the end. This is possibly also why we are getting naf all and it is not just results that are hurting us. Of course they are but....

OPINION: Who killed the Wellington Sevens? "Not I," said the drunks as they vomited and leered at passers-by.

"Not I," said the PC fun police, "would you mind blowing into this before entering the stadium?" "Not I," said New Zealand Rugby, "now take your $240 seats for Azerbaijan versus Benin". "Not I," said the stadium caterers, "here's your flat beer and cold chips. That will be $137.50." "Not I," said the council, "though due to commercial sensitivity we can't tell you why."

Can someone inform me when did the stadium decide to introduce "Alcohol Monitors" and WTF is that all about? They guy I saw wearing their new vest look more line a "Stoner type" to me anyway.
