Anyone playing this and if so, what platform?
- I haven't played campaign yet and the biggest complaint I'm hearing about that is that it's too short because it's so damn good - instead of one campaign, it;s broken into 5 different stories from what I have read.
- Multiplayer is beautiful. Sure, it's frustrating initially until you learn the maps but they are brilliantly set-out to allow flanking opportunities, some great vehicles, pick-ups and weapons - many more options available that I envisioned and the ability to destroy almost any building and kick in doors etc. make for some great game play.
- I'm a Battlefield fanboy, I think for multiplayer it is far superior to COD and that's the mode I play most, but even as a fan, I'm suprised at just how good this game is. Taking a step back to WWI is a massive step forward for this type of game and they are increasing the gap between COD and BF franchises - maybe not in player numbers but definitely in game play and the immersive nature.
Im playing this and in my opinion the campaign is the best looking one they have ever done,albeit a bit sort and somehow I managed to finish the campaign before completing the previous mission as they didnt insist on a particular order to do them. i found the multiplayer difficult to get friends to join your group but once i had sorted it out....loved it
Im playing on the playstation 4 and my only grumble is because im an old fart i think that the maps currently show a bias toward snipers otherwise this game kills COD hands down
Pity you're not on Xbox One - we have quite a decent platoon of old farts who play together. Snipers are more effective in this game initially but I've got a theory on that...
I played BF3 and BF4 a lot (possibly about 3000 hours all up) and in these early days, across the Oceania servers, I'm not seeing a lot of names I recognise. This tells me that there are a lot of first time or very part time BF players who have purchased this game and are flodding the scene at the moment. One thing new player and part timers rarely do it spot...and when people don't spot, snipers are in there element. Also, it will take a while to learn all of the popular sniping spots so you know where to go hunting for them.
