How many players on the field are contracted to the Phoenix? Seems strange that there aren't more from our only pro club, especially since we now have a reserve team.

If we were 2-0 down at half time everyone would be saying how shark we are... so I assume we are all going to bed and booking the win considering how shark honduras are?

Good half despite some very ordinary passing. Some players are seriously lucky to be starting.

I think we have looked more composed and Bell has had some nice releases from the middle, but we certainly started chasing the ball in the last 15.

Fresh legs will be important to keep the press up and we need to slow down the game when we have the ball, unless a quick break presents itself.

I'd like to see Billingsly pulled, loses the ball almost every time he touches it, otherwise of if it stays as is. I like McGarry in the WB role, has really pressed and got a few interventions and put himself about.

Hard to get past the ads but it finally works, and the bonus is its without weird Vietnamese music like those videos in the kareoke bars (instead of any commentary - even in Spanish or Vietnamese, and no strangely angled postcarded screen. So it will do!.

McGarry is a pro at the Nix, Bell a recent academy graduate (now at Uni in the US) who starred for reserves this summer. The others are pros (Woud - Sunderland, Bevan - Vancouver - only just). At Uni (Hunter Ashworth, Billingsley). At NZ clubs (Cox, Liddicoat, Lewis) At Aus clubs (Ingham, Dyer). Singh a nix academy grad likely to turn pro on the bench, Rogerson a nix pro on the bench, and Johnson, a nix academy/reserves type. Ben Mata and Liam Wood both nix academy/reserves types who didn't make the cut.

That's really quite strange the referee was so quick to blow his whistle, particularly with the whole VAR thing, the referee has the opportunity to not make a call and look back at it later rather than being so reactive. Glad justice was served by converting that penalty.

Should have played advantage ideally. But fair enough, he blew the whistle straight away as soon as the foul happened, and Bevan slotted it, so nothing lost. 3-1

I wanted to see Singh so badly, sad he's not getting a look in as even if he was amputated he'd still be better shout than Dyer. Hopefully against France or in the R16.

Dyer is on a yellow... they might rest him for the next game to save him for the second round?

So, all we need to do is not let the France game get out of hand and we should be through to the knock-outs.

A much improved effort from the team.

We held our shape defensively very well tonight which was pleasing, whilst also being a little smarter with the ball tonight. It will be interesting to see how we shape up for the France game and if we try to protect our starters on cards to make sure they don't get suspended.

I'd like to see Rogerson start with Singh getting a run.

France game pretty much irrelevant now, four points is enough to get through. Highly unlikely that there will be five third placed teams on four points, usually there's 2 at most and the other 2 go through with 3 points.

Joe Bell. Young enough to play again the the next U20 World Cup cycle. At college in states; wonder why he's not on a Nix contract?

Thanks for the help with the links folks. We won a battling game there. It was worth the late night, mucking around with streams and experiencing a truly odd Vietnamese stream for a while. And we managed to do it all with only 35% of possession! Nice. Now, lets just keep France's lid on....

If Honduras beat Vietnam surely the France game is irrelevant?

Dyer not a centre mid. Maybe a DM at best.

Be nice to see the Singh rogerson connection given a run.

Good to hear no one is complaining about a route one set piece and suspect penalty win.

A win is a win at the WC.

The changes made by bringing in McGarry( who has played that position before) and Bell( who has played there before) were good decisions. Why we started game 1 with who we did was beyond me. but lets hope that Bazeley will stick with them now there.

Great win inspired by that magnificent strike by Bevan which rocked the opposition, but there were still long hoof ball tactics far too much for my liking, although they did mix it up far more than the previous match.
