Here's how the last-16 line-up looks in the Champions League: FC Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Man Utd, Inter Milan and Sevilla go through as group winners. Liverpool, Schalke 04, Olympiakos, Celtic, Lyon, Roma, Fenerbahce and Arsenal are the other qualifiers.

Inter will be impossible to beat at full strength. They're having loads of injuries but still haven't lost a match in ages. With Figo, Vieira, Stankovic back in action, we will win the Champions League

No-one is impossible to beat.

By the way, real happy that Lyon got their act together and went through. Just saw the game from this morning - how classy is Juninho Pernambucano? And the 19-year old striker Karim Benzama was brilliant, despite what the ESPN muppets were saying...hate to judge a player on one game only (although he has scored 12 goals in 17 Ligue 1 games), but he could be a very big name very soon... el grapadura2007-12-13 21:27:00

I can't help but feel that the Liverpool scenario is remarkably similar to England's Euro 2008 qualification attempt:

They look down and out.
They get a sniff of hope back.
Their fate is in their hands.
They fail miserably.

Well, I hope so anyway.

By the way, who was the guy who set up Julio Cruz's goal this morning? Didn't catch his name due to chaos in the living room at the time, but that was an impressive run...el grapadura2007-12-13 22:39:02

David Suazo--Hondurian striker signed from Cagliari at the start of the season. Great run indeed to set up easiest of finishes for Cruz. Inter rocks2007-12-13 22:48:40

If you don't support a British side, why would you prefer them to anyone else?  I support Panathinaikos, so why would I prefer to see a British side go through instead of them for instance?

Well, firstly, I'm not British so I have no reason to support British teams. Furthermore, all I was saying is that I prefer to see a classy side (Lyon) in the latter stages of the Champions League rather than an average one (Rangers). The gap in class between the two teams was pretty evident last week I thought.

The draw is on this coming weekend - Friday night/Saturday morning our time.

So are you praying for Porto, or feel confident you can beat anyone you get?

Arsenal can beat anyone. In 2005/06 we drew Real Madrid and ended runner's up. Last year we drew PSV and were eliminated.

Anything can happen so there's no use fretting about drawing a 'big' team - Arsenal are a big team.

Yep, I probably should have phrased that better...the point I was trying to make is that Porto seem a far easier proposition than any of the other 4 teams that Arsenal could potentially meet in the round of 16.

Not questioning that at all, but I was talking about this to a mate of mine who's an Arsenal fan, and he was very much hoping for Porto. So I was just wondering if his feelings were shared by other Arsenal fans.el grapadura2007-12-17 17:51:51

Would I prefer Porto to Inter/Milan/Barca/Real? Yes. But as I said, I'm not too fussed.

I won't be too unhappy as long as Inter doen't draw Arsenal or Liverpool. Lyon I think we can beat.

The only problem with that is that you can't have Lyon - you both finished second in your groups. Your best bet would probably be Porto.
