I'm hearing that Joey has secured a move to a Turkish first division club...?  Anybody got confirmation of that?

He got more than that: 0 vs Korea; 4+4 vs Honduras; 45 vs Romania and 36+2 vs Japan (91 all up if you include added time)

Not at all. None of Just, Waine, McCowatt or Garbett played mainifestly badly.

Team went into the Olympics with very little prep, and Champness was totally new to the group. Not surprising that Hay relied a lot on Just, McCowatt & Waine up front - them having played together going back to the U20s.

If anything Hay wasn't afraid to give most of his squad minutes as the tourney went on, though he has said in retrospect he should have made more changes from South Korean to Honduran game. Starting 11 against Koreans being fatigued, from the sapping conditions of that game.

Edit - Champness got 86 mins across the 4 games anyway.

Sorry, I didn't see the other Joey thread - perhaps moderator could fix?  And he got 86 mins - my apologies for that mistake also.  I think he has that dynamic unpredictable factor we were missing at the ollies, and could have been better utilised.  All water under the bridge now of course.
The Turkey thing was a rumour so I wondered if there was any truth.
I personally see Champness as raw, but with a lot of potential.  Sometimes overseas clubs like that mix.
