He's getting on a bit but that's a pretty decent level to be playing at. Fair play to the fella. Goes under the radar because he's not really a product of the New Zealand system, though neither are Winston Reid or Tommy Smith really. If he's a regular in the Greek Super League then he'll be playing at a higher level than quite a few guys in the national team. In fact, going by the UEFA coefficients, there might only be less than 10 of the squad playing in tougher competition, and that includes Cacace and Garbett who haven't a minute between them.
Aris had quite a few guys who've played in Serie A, La Liga, Premier League, Portuguese and Brazilian leagues. Certainly not what you'd face lining up against Finn Harps, for example.
Shame his peak for the All Whites coincided with some pretty sharky times for us and then covid made playing games basically impossible. In a better world I could see him play 30-odd games for NZ. Always kept an eye on him too.
