Chesterfield are dead last in League One, with a game to play and will play next season in League Two.

Can't find any mention of Graham's likely return date from injury (ACL recon). Was mentioned at the time as a 6 month recovery period - and has been about 5 mths since the game in New Caledonia where he got injured.  So highly likely he won't be in the reckoning for Confeds Cup.

Seems there's been some strange goings-on regarding Liam and Chesterfield!

A post by Liam's brother on a Chesterfield fans' forum.

Addresses rumours amongst fans of dodgy financial aspects to Liam's signing and wages.

Chesterfield seem in a right mess financially with various corrupt dealings.

Liam couldn't be signed straight away after trialing due to the three clubs in one year rule, so Chesterfield had Liam playing under a fake name (without Liam's knowledge).

Some dodgy financial backer of the club called Dennis Bingham is alleged to have used a fake company to channel money to the club, including "sponsoring" the wages of players like Liam.

Things were so hopelessly and ineptly chaotic at the club that the new manager wasn't aware that Liam existed and was undergoing recuperation for his ACL injury in Dubai.

A fan: "At the time the joke amongst those who went to watch the reserves was is Liam Graham playing and what name is he under this week..."

But some good news from Liam's brother on his rehabilitation from injury:

"In the immediate future, he is aiming to be fit for the Confederations Cup if selected to represent New Zealand in Russia, against Russia, Portugal and Mexico. This would be an honour for him, and something I’m sure you as Chesterfield fans would be proud of, to have a player at the Confederations Cup, and I hope you will support him to reach that goal.

... No Liam is not contracted for next season but hopes to remain at the club. Caldwell does now know who he is and wants to see him play in pre-season before making a decision on him as far as I know."

I hope that he is not a target for the Phoenix. Hasn't he had like 1/2/3 knee reconstructions? (I am unsure but believe its more than 1)

Hopefully he can kick-start his career again and develop some more. I can't believe he's already 25 - doesn't feel like he's been around this long.

Shame about those two injuries (didn't the first one happen with the AWs??) as they certainly slowed him down a lot.

Whatever happened to former All White Liam Graham?

Is he still playing or did the injuries unfortunately end his career early?

Played for ACFC last season IIRC. Appears to be unattached at the moment - also can't believe he's already 27! Thought he was a lot younger but then again he has been around for some time and took some significant time off due to his bad injury(-ies).

Umm.. he might have been in the squad but apart from pre-season I don't recall him ever playing a first team game.

He was in the squad 2 seasons ago and only made a handful of appearances

A bit of a well travelled citizen of the world from memory. Lived & played in Japan (school there also?), Italy plus England.

Possibly back living in one of those places, and pursuing some other sort of career.

But always hard to come back from a bad ACL rupture. If he couldn't crack it at ACFC, at 26 his pro football days are likely sadly over.

Henry Cameron also seems to be struggling to get back to where he was.

Massive fingers crossed for Thomas in his comeback. Won't be easy at all, especially the confidence part going into tackles etc.

See in this week's Flying Kiwis, he has been playing games in PSV U19's, but is now finally training again with 1st team squad.

he was picked up when Oceania reduced the import quota down to 3+1, but don't think Ramon was ever that keen on him, so he didn;t play a lot
