Assuming NZ Baseball signs off on it, I wonder what they will pick for a name. I think The New Zealand Taiaha's might be kinda cool given the nature of the sport, tho I admit I am unsure if it would be culturally appropriate to use the word/imagery in this context.

QBE is not big enough. They'll hit the ball out of the ground more often than not.

Well the Brisbane team that won the title the last three years has a ground (shown above in Balbi's post) with a seated capacity of 800, so the ground might not need too much built around it.

I messaged Shane Harmon the other day on Twitter asking if the Stadium would look at trying to host some games (He is a big baseball fan & noted after the SCG hosted a MLB game, that they can fit a diamond in as well). He said the overlay costs would make it a big challenge but he will be watching with interest and who knows.

That was sad to read and learn of at the time. I hope the same Auckland fans don't give up on the pending new Auckland A League franchise. The Tuatara's had some nice kit too. Wish I had bought some.
