Lee Ho-jae (Pohang Steelers)

The ever reliable Football Manager (2024 edition) indicates that Lee Ho-Jae is eligble to play for NZ. Haven't seen this discussed before on this forums, but if it has feel free to delete.

Seems to have spent time with Onehunga Sports.

Still not 100% clear on his eligibility as he moved to NZ as a child and then left to finish high school in South Korea.

I believe he lived here long enough to gain citizenship but I have no idea whether he actually did.

Would be excellent if NZ could snag him though, he’d be Wood’s number 2 at the moment on form.

This is the lad whose dad played for Korea and has been part of the Korean age group set up already? 

Seems like quite a long shot that he’d want to join us. Anyone from Onehunga or school days still in touch with him? That’d be the most likely way to find out I guess…and probably the answer would be have to wait and see. Maybe the chance to play at a WC later on might be appealing. But it doesn’t seem like his current goal.
