0-0 draw. BA grinding out enough results like this to likely avoid relegation.

BA lose 1-3. They drop to just 1 spot above the drop zone, but same points as Bindon's Reading, and 5 pts clear of relegation.

BA (19th) lose 2-1 at top of the table Potsmouth. Crocombe in goal.

Kusini Yengi with the brace for Portsmouth, and gets recalled to the Socceroos for their March Lebanon WC qualifiers.

I see relegation threatened Burton Albion are still down to play Port Vale on 24th March. So be interesting to see where Crocombe will be. In the English Midlands or Egypt.

In goal for a 1-0 loss.

BA still down to play Port Vale next weekend. They are only 4 pts above the drop zone. Crocs with a tough decision maybe. Midlands or Cairo?

Burton Albion (19th) host Port Vale (23rd). Presumably Blackman who got ousted by Crocombe early in the season, will be in goal.

Nice result for Des Buckingham, nightmare for Matt Crocombe. BA get thrashed 4-0 at home.

BA fall into the drop zone (20th), on GD from Port Vale.

Oxford meanwhile go 6th (promotion playoff spots)

Huge relegation battle 6 pointer.
Burton Albion (20th, 43 pts) host Cheltenham Town (22nd, 38 pts).
Including Wynne's Port Vale, 2 of these 3 teams will likely be relegated.

Crocombe in goal as Burton Albion lose 1-2. He got a yellow late on. There would have been a fair amount of tension in this one no doubt.

Loss puts BA (20th, 43 pts, 44 games) in real danger of the drop.
Cheltenham Town (21st, 41 pts, 43 games) with a game in hand.
Deklan Wynne's Port Vale (22nd, 40 pts, 44 games) the other horse in this 3 team relegation struggle.

2 of these teams are almost certain to drop to League Two.

BA host Bindon's Reading (safe from the drop now) this weekend. Then finish by travelling to Fleetwood Town (23rd, 37 pts) - FT likely already relegated by that game.

Port Vale with the tougher draw. Away to Jack Iredale's Bolton (3rd) and then hosting Cambridge United (19th)

Max Mata's parent club - Shrewsbury Town (18th, 47 pts) are probably safe now.

Expect some final round drama for the Kiwis in League One.

Penultimate round & Kiwi L1 derby.
Crocombe's Burton Albion (20th, 43 pts) host Bindon's Reading (17th, 50 pts).

BA win and they are in a strong position to avoid relegation. Reading already safe.

Edit - no surprises both Crocombe & Bindon suit up.

Burton Albion win 3-2. Both Crocs & Bindon the 90 mins.

Crucial win for BA (20th, 45 games, -25 GD, 46 points), and they most likely stay up in League One, with one game left.

Cheltenham Town (21st, 44 games, -25 GD, 41 points), in the last relegation spot with a game in hand could yes still overtake but it's not probable.

BA finish by playing already relegated Fleetwood Town (A)
CT play mid week, and finish with Peterborough United (H) &  Stevenage (A)

Wonder if any bigger L1 clubs or even a Championship club are looking at Crocombe. Though he hasn't be getting the same accolades 2nd half of the season that he had first half.

Some bad news for Burton Albion (20th, 45 games, -25 GD, 46 points) overnight, relegation rivals Cheltenham Town (21st, 45 games, -23 GD, 44 points) with a 2-0 win over Peterborough United.

So it all comes down to the last round this weekend. Similar maybe to events at the ROF, some last day drama awaits.

Even though they are 2 points ahead of CT, BA can't rest having an inferior GD. ie they draw & CT win, BA go down.

BA play at Fleetwood Town (22nd & already relegated)
CT play at  Stevenage (9th & nothing to play for)

Disclaimer - I'm travelling this weekend so the regular Sunday morning UK football updates may not happen. Apologies in advance!

Crocombe wins Burton Albion player of the year award. They love him up there. Good to see such positive comments towards him on this one too, despite it being a rough season for the club.

He's definitely been the difference between a lot of points being won and lost. Hopefully they can stay in League One come the end of the weekend! 🤞

Burton Albion stay in League One, despite being absolutely flogged 3-0 on the last day of the season by an already relegated Fleetwood Town.

So they survive by the skin of their teeth, as Cheltenham - The only team that could catch them on the day, went down 2-1 to Stevenage (90th minute winner for Stevenage). A Cheltenham victory coupled with a Burton Albion loss would have seen the Brewers drop in to League Two for the 24/25 season.

And now a few words from their player of the season, and the resident Kiwi at the club - Max Crocombe.h

They're some lucky boys those Brewers, hopefully a markedly better campaign next time around.
