Now tell me the draw is not rigged.
So are you saying that Wests will win regardless of who they draw as long as money is involved? Mate the game still needs to be played and anyone, anyone can win on its day!
Side tracking about money and not related to "buying the cup" there are also a number of other clubs who are not short of the coin that are able to influence too (e.g. players choice of clubs etc).... chareimos2007-06-18 18:10:11
draw for the Chatham Cup CHATHAM CUP:
Wairarapa - Western Suburbs -
Miramar Rangers - Napier City Rovers -still looking at a Rangers/Suburbs final........

How can Wests possibly miss out drawing a CL team
everytime
Hell, lets hand them the Cup now - money talks Mr Wilson

It is - Mr Wilson just rang to tell me the draw
Love your work Frankie
My sources confirm that draw plus the rest.
Miramar v Napier
Wairarapa v Wests
ECB v Central
North Shore v Manurewa
Eastern Subs v Metro
Papakura v Hamilton
Nomads v Western
Roslyn v Caversham
Really I think this round should go National, to have Royslyn
v Caversham and ECB v Central are two massive games just like the
Olympic Miramar game. If these games were all at quarter final
level or higher it would bring more interest into the
comp.

Seems like there a lot of jealous people on here.
What Western Suburbs have done is nothing different to what
many of the larger clubs in Wellington have done for years.
Your Mirimar, Olympic, Lower Hutt, etc have all had money
ploughed into the club.
In the words of The Streets "Dry your Eyes"
I'm not saying Wests will win - as a matter of fact I hope they
don't but its amazing how they always seem to draw the easier teams
on paper. Yes, I realise the game still needs to be played but I'd
be a lot more confident knowing we were playing Wairarapa than
Miramar or Napier.
Will be inteesting to see whether or not they end up getting a
home quarter and semi like last year...........should they make
it
Hopefully they do make it and do get a home quarter and semi (and
Miramar do to). It gives us all the opportunity to see some good
teams, and players, from other parts of NZ that we wouldnt
normally get the chance to watch.
I hope Wests and Miramar crash out of the Cup and Olympic are
re-instated and invited to take part in the final against
Wairarapa.
Dreams are free...
Capital Soccer are the real losers with Olympic out - with less " Fine Money " money coming in !!!!!!!!!!!! Capital Soccer would love to have them back in the CUP
Thanks...i think.
Wairarapa at home, furthest a Wairarapa team has ever been,
should be a good crowd, possibility of a big upset?
If we hadn't lost 0-2 to Marist we would have been playin Wests @
Bell Park instead of Wests playin Marist @ Stadio Kilbirnie. The
draw isn't rigged, anyone who thinks it is must be a fool or on P.
Its so obvious that the draw is rigged. How can in a draw of 16 a CL team wasnt pitted against each other until the last rounds. If you think that the draw isnt rigged your a fool. How do you think Olympic got to play against Miramar when the seconds are playing on the same day, by chance as our famous beer brand states "YEAH RIGHT" it is not a fair draw in the sence of pulled out of the hat stuff its the luck of who Capital soccer want to play each other. Look at the last few years no CL team has draw each other in the early rounds.......
Stadio Kilbirnie
i like that
also known as:
to supporters: Fortress Kilbrine
to others : Mud Pit Kilbirnie
Wind Tunnel Kilbirnie
sorry, was that off topic?
I say we can argue till we're blue in the face about the draw, ultimately any team in it has to win every game they play, always playing against other unbeaten sides in the cup, and if they can do that then they deserve to win
Go the Wellington teams!

i spent a season and a half under Blellock @ stadio kilbirnie, top
scorer in the 1st team (13 in 15 games, suspended for 3) in 2005
after 5 seasons with Wests 1st Team. Much poorer return in 2006
before shipping off to Wharfies mid season after butting heads with
various club people......crazily off the topic but!
I'll be supporting the Wests lads all the way from here on in, hard to say as a Lower Hutt player but home is where the heart is.

Carni? almost has to be with that brilliant record of suspensions
;)
that'd be i......the one and only.....
unfortunately my legacy at Marist will always be the 3 red cards in 2 seasons, 1 of which was in retaliation to blatant racism from a Petone player (I still know who you are pal, if you're reading this mate you have no place in football), and not the 13 goals which pretty much kept us in it for the most part of the season, who could forget the 30 yard volley with time up vs Brooklyn for a 1-0 win.......such is life!

Don't worry, i still remember you jumping on Brian after that goal,
but to bring it back to Chatham cup, I was still happy to see your
shot slipping past the upright in our match ;)
All I remember, Carney, is the filthy studs up tackle from behind
at Porirua Park.
Yes, memories of Marist - we all have them. Great
club........many a drunk night there
the thing is, when i was tearing off towards Brian, i had just
slogged away for 90 mins in the middle of the park and started
cramping up mid-celebration! mmm yes I feel i should have been
brought on considerably earlier....was a good strike that one! who
might u be wulfsteam?
yes Barry that tackle wasn't the greatest, but it was the start of a great on-field friendship! if i remember right i ripped your sock?! to be fair i've never made another tackle like it in my life, mostly due to the fact ive been too slow to catch up with anyone!
Marist tournament, who could forget getting home at 6am and kicking off at 9am, brilliant! Was proud to be on your team that weekend Mr Lewis.
Go wests for the cup! (just to add some relevance to the thread!)

Mate, i'm the one that James Dean wrote such lovely things about in
his last Chatham Cup round up...
Johnny Crooks as the Marist program does such a wonderful job of mangling even the home team names lol

Yeah and just about half my leg mate.
Nothing like a Marist tourney thats for sure. Was privelged
enough to get an invite to the upcoming tournament in Sept so
looking forward to that. Presidents XI for me - must be getting
old.
i am sad to say I won't be taking part......for 2 reasons....
a) american football would have started by then (GO WELLINGTON WOLVES!)
b).........i dont think id be welcomed with open arms somehow!

I reffed a game you played in at Endevour Barber 21. I didnt manage
to even give you a yellow card. I guess thats why it was my one and
only time at reffing a senior game.
really? no cards? that can't be right coz surely i would have
abused you for something. either that or I was so far behind the
play i didnt get close to anyone. can i ask when this game took
place?
Matt, you wouldnt abuse me cause you look up to me
You look like Nadal the tennis player
