That's right, punning Maas - tery does not happen over night (or even since this thread started!).
Yarra bunch'a nuts!
Quite right, Darling!
I'm not sure the flow has quite dried up - the rivers have brought out a few out of their Hutt(s).
Gee, the potential for Authors is vast, so how about we start within the NZ corpus first?HarryHotspur2008-06-06 19:46:12
"What the Dickens?" (Desperate use of an old saying)
Have you fallen on Hard Times, LG? We need to put this (Bleak) House in order if you are losing the thread.
I hear Charles Cumming to join this thread!! Will Napier be joining in too?
Thought I'd Mersey on into this thread, see what was happening.
Thought you'd just dart in did yah?
I just had Tyne for a quick Tees.
Exe cellent! More happy punners. Wye we don't get more I'm sure I'l never know!
Does that make Severn of Ouse now or more? Hope we don't get any nasty puns or we might have to Bann some people. So Don Dee thinking caps peoples & come up with some more puns.Wongo2008-06-05 08:04:30
After Leith-ing this thread when I went overseas three months ago, I really missed the awful puns. This will be the Firth of Forth-coming threads from me if you'll have me back! Please do, I don't want to have to Sever(n) my ties with the pundemonium thread! That would leave a bit of a Stour taste in my mouth.
Come kick off next season and we'll be sailing the Yellow River!

You may as well dive in though, I mean Orwell that ends well.
Will we ever get to 1984 puns, Big Bro? HarryHotspur2008-06-06 13:57:50
We using Orwell as a re-focus ?
If we don't make 1984, it won't be a Blyton any of us.
If we don't make 1984, it won't be a Blyton any of us.
Well if we do, I suggest 2 puns good, 4 puns (not) baaaad. But in the interest of avoiding disappearing up our own behind's, and the potential Rhine-ing of those yet to enjoy an April morning in which the clock chimes 13, we had better Styx to rivers.
Meh, I Congo either way.
Good to see no one is Rhine-ing about this thread biut are taken awash with the puns. we're getting Severn about it now!
Yarra bunch'a nuts!
I hope all the poor studends can still afford T RENT after buying their memberships
I prefer HN's suggestion to change from rivers to authors, because rivers doesn't flow like it used to, and I can see many-a-pun on authors rowling on and taking up many more pages.
Quite right, Darling!

Why the DICKENS RUSHtie to end rivers
Gee (Maurice) I don't know why.
orwell never mind

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
That's a rather Austen-tacious post, LG.
I Verne to keep the standards high!
Only the leagues that play at Karori Park could be described to be under the sea though. Maybe not the whole sea. Just Arthur C. (Clark!)
How do you think CHRISTIE will go this year? a bit GRIMM last I thought.
Dont mean to KNOX him though just JOAQUIN for a
LAFontaine.
LAFontaine.
Harry have you ever played at Hans Christian Anderson park? You could Rendavou with Rama there and possibly meet Arthur c Clarke there. Bit late for a 2001 meeting though!
So it's authors bearing the Bronte of our puns now?
Pun? Shelley or shan't he? That is the question.
And never the Twain shall meet!
I'm a little lost as to the Frame this thread is in at the moment. A Swift recovery would Defoenitely be in order on my part methinks....
I'm the only Scott stuck up here in Mansfield st trying to find a novel way not Rushdie in to anything ,all a bit Grimm Bro!!
