We (being the backbencher)are going to try and be open for as many of the games as possible, but its hard to predict what games are going to get the crowds without England in the competition. Who else is going to Euro.I ask because I have made no plans for accom or games whatsoever - and if someone can hook me up with anything then I will let you run the yellow fever website
The cuz has been working on me to go over for a while now, but having just returned from overseas I'm not sure if it'd be the wisest move. Although I'll probably be sorely tempted to go if we make the semis.
As far as accomm goes, may I recommend staying in Zagreb - it'll be cheaper and probably easier to find places, and it's about 3 hours drive away from Vienna and only 45 mins from Klagenfurt where Croatia will play two of their games (against Germany and Poland). And if you can arrange a bar-tab for us at the clubrooms, I'll give you my cuz's number and tell him to look after you.

I see you're going to Pag - red wine, great cheese, sun and hot women.
Nice.
And I'll be stuck here having to get up at 4am in freezing cold to watch the games...

Maybe I should watch some football before heading to Croatia cos sounds like I won't want to be leaving in a hurry. El grapadura what's the best way to get from Pag to Vienna, would it take that long to drive?
Shouldn't be more than 7 hours drive, less if you drive like me.
If you don't have a car, you could probably catch a bus from Zadar to Zagreb, and then a train or a bus from Zagreb to Vienna, but that'll obviously take longer.
Take it you'll be taking a ferry from Pag to Zadar?
cheers for the info. Feverish get that car.
Any sayings worth knowing to impress the local lasses.

sounds a bit better than sun, red women, hot cheese and great wine
Here are some phrases that may be useful though:
Dobar dan/vece - Good afternoon/evening
Hvala - Thank you
Koliko - How much
Kako si - How are you (use this only with people who are not much older than you, otherwise you might inadvertantly offend...)
Lijepa si - You're beautiful
Zelis li plesati (sa mnom) - do you want to dance (with me)
Zelis li nesto popiti - would you like a drink
This is all I can think of right now, I can PM you some risque ones if you're feeling brave....
I'm sure your dashing good looks will be more than enough...

we and Betters are hanging out in some Croatian party island for a few days. We may never return - though we are meant to be going to Vienna after that where the QF is on.

What's Croatian for "Who Are Ya?"
In refined, posh accent, "Tko si ti/ste vi", the YF equivalent would be "Ko si".
Feverish needs to know how to say the following:
* Can I pop out to a cashpoint to get some money for my bail?
* I want to smash your back doors in
* I need to get a new passport urgently
* How did I get to this hospital?
* Fancy coping off with a professional footballer? I play for the Phoenix
Me too!... gutted can't be there. I just downloaded Satellite TV to my computer through a program on the net (www.watcheuro2008online.com) so I can at least watch it without having to get outta bed!
Going to be so close to the action, but won't make it to any games unfortunately. Still, Europe will be humming.
anyone hear from Feverish yet? did he get there in one piece?
