thoughts on klasnics possible move to wigan

Think he'd be a good Premiership player, don't know if Wigan would be the best destination for him. If he gets a bit more time on the pitch in EURO and plays like he did against Poland, he may get a few more suitors.

Well, the emotional scars will take a while to heal, if ever, but I've finally regained enough composure to write something about the game.
Firstly, I didn't think we played particularly well, but certainly were the better side (especially in the second half) and probably should have progressed. We looked very nervous in the first half, but got into a much better rhythm in the second and pretty much controlled the game. The fitness was an issue in extra time, but I still felt we had the Turks well under control. We finally got a goal with a minute to go in extra time, and then inexplicably conceded with the last kick of the game even though the Turks never looked like scoring the whole game. I was mystified by the referee's decision to add 2 minutes of injury time in the second period of extra time, especially conidering that he blew up for the end of the first period of extra time before the 15 minutes were up, but I won't go into that too much. We also should have been allowed to make the substitution although not doing that certainly had no bearing on what happened afterwards.
Like I said in an earlier post, our profligacy in front of the goal could come to haunt us, and it's proved to be the case. Olic's, Kranjcar's and Rakitic's misses were bewildering to say the least, and the less said about the penalties the better.
Overall, I think most Croats before the tournament started would have regarded the quarter-finals as a good performance, but given the opposition and their performance in the quarter the result is a bit difficult to swallow right now. I guess though that we have a lot of young and talented players (Modric, Rakitic, Kranjcar, Srna, Pranjic, Eduardo) for whom the best years are still ahead of them so that's something to look forward to now.

Unlucky is the only word to use el Grap!!!
I think they needed Eduardo more than ever yesterday. For all his effort and hardwork Olic simply isnt clinical enough!!! Turkey played well admitedly...particularly Hamit Altintop (22) who dominated midfield. I think you have a fabulous player in Modric tho...beutiful dribbler and silky smooth skills.

Completely agree YB. Also, I think Bilic should have taken off Kranjcar sooner and replaced him with Klasnic rather than Petric. Olic has been playing up front because of his speed, not clinical finishing, and it cost us dearly.
Turks were nothing special I thought, defended very deep, and despite having periods when they had possession in our defensive third, they never really threatened. Until they scored, and that was pretty much a route 1 ball that was finished off thanks to a deflection.
Guess there's the qualifying for World Cup to look forward to.

Nowhere near enough. I hope for a 149-0 scoreline, with Klose netting 68.

I have two home ones - WC 2002, and EURO 2008. Don't really like the blue ones.
