good old TVNZ gets a bit of a bashing on this forum but I just
watched their 10s clip on the under 20 match v Portugal and
couldn't believe they managed to chuck in four factual errors in
this very short space of time.
Firstly, they showed the penalty and said it was the first
goal in the first half
Secondly, they showed the free kick, claiming it was the
second goal in the second half
Thirdly, apparently both goals were "penalties"
Fourthly, they claimed the Gambia game is Thursday (it's
Friday).
You may be asking what Veitchy got right? The score, but that
was about it....
Not defending TVNZ here but the game was Thursday in Canada
(friday down in NZ). And yeah thats some pretty bad
errors.
Clearly being in the UK I've not seen this news item but
as I've mentioned in other threads NZ's broadcast media loves to
chop football down especially TVNZ and that twat Tony "Pofta"
Veitch. As to the America's Cup... no one in Europe gave a
toss, the only info I've heard about it has come form back in NZ so
one has to question the governments huge capital injection into a
"hobby for rich pricks" which for some reason us kiwis seem to
believe represents us all.
I see also the government is planning another 10 mil, this
money would have been far better spent sponsoring the U20 world cup
as it is OFFICIALLY THE BIGGEST SPORTING EVENT IN THE WORLD THIS
YEAR. So what if most kiwis don't watch football, look at how
many other people do!
Sadly things won't change in most kiwi minds as we are pretty
thick in the head at times... can't wait for the bulls**t excuses
in September when we yet again blow out at the Rugby World Cup non
event (again not that while this is Rugby premier event, the U20
comp still blows it out of the water)!
