i am stuck with no car at the moment so looking for a ride from wanganui to wellington and back to wanganui after the game.happy to share cost of petrol
well at this stage looks like i will be missing my first home game since newcastle at the beginning of season 1, not happy about it but i guess sh*t happens.
Are there no buses or trains from Wanganui ?
I have just changed my flights back from Sydney to make it to the game. I am a legend. End of.

no trains, a few buses a day probably, would mean staying the night but i do not want to stay over as the hood i live in is getting burgalled on a regular basis, in the last week 4 houses in the block i live in have been hit,all 4 at night while people have been away not willing to risk it
Intercity has some fares, as does naked bus. Would cost you $50-$75, but have a look.
i knew wanganui waqs a hick town but now it is confirmed,budget and hertz are in town but none open on a saturday or sunday. avis have no cars available on that weekend couiple more to look into
You could bus down and pick up a rental in Wellington and Drive it back that night?
just trying a couple of the smaller rental companies in town will see what happens,
naked bus co only have one bus a day from wanganui that gets to wellington at 8-05 pm so no good still have to look at intercity

Sorry that I won't be at the Backbencher but so looking forward to this.
After supporting the Football Kingz and the NZ Knights this will be the first time that I will ever have gone to a HOME game.
Down side is that I will miss the team playing in Perth due to still being in NZ.
Bummer you'll miss the Perth game. That will be my first ever nix game, can't wait, taking a couple of Irish lads along who i've converted to phoenix supporters. Hope someone can give you a lift to the game Holeinone, surely there must be other people from Wanganui going down to Wellington. You could always try hitch hiking , with a yellow sign with ROF on it
