A mentally slow guy came into work today asking if we had any porno's with monster trucks in them.

I was so amused.

No, I nearly choked laughing and told him that, to my knowledge, no such thing existed.  However, it should.  It'd rake in more money than Avatar (possibly not).

Nah, unfortunately I wasn't the one who actually served him.

Everyone must watch!  It's brilliant!  1 minute 10 seconds in is simply hilarious.

Post feedback, I'm curious to know whether or not you consider that response rational.

And no, that isn't me.

Yay thats great... was the landfill close enough they cd have got their themselves?? or wd someone have to have dumped then? in which case you need to talk to the police or spca and find out wether you can threaten your neighbors that you think it was then and will prosecute if it happens again.

anyway why are you on here lol. you shd be down there shaking a bot of go-kats

It's a private landfill - mum has gone to get permission from the council to enter and then we're off

And the landfill is something like 15km away, so not likely.

Carter Observatory.  Open day today after 3 years closed for renovations.

HEAPS of people queing up to get tickets for the plane'arium - very nice show there (no cheezey poofs for sale tho)

Edit:  I noticed a few nix jerseys on show around the observatory today.. and just one canes (only add this observation in the light of the recent form of the canes and the profile the football in wgtn has had and how nix can capitalise on it's success).

I was there too and noticed the same as you with the Nix tops.

I couldn't believe it had been closed for so long. Missed out on Planetariam tickets but hopefully will go in a few weeks when hype has gone down and it's not so busy.

Demand for the plane'arium show was quite astounding.  We got there at 10:45 am and the availble shows started from 3 pm.

Apparently people had been queuing since 8:30 am (10 am start).

We came back for a 4 pm showing and the queue to get into the building was even longer than in the morning.

I got there about 2pm, didn't get in until 3:30pm. But i didn't mind cause it was sunny. Once we got in ended up queing up again for the line for the old telescope.

so is the planeterium as good as I think it is? plush seats?

A VERY good set-up.  Big comfy seats that you lie back in and look up into the dome of the plane'arium.

Played a short clip (teaser) of a film from the perspective of an astronaut on a shuttle and then went itno the star gazing stuff - but very neat - could zoom into nebulae and then took a trip to the andromeda galaxy and viewed the milky way from there, before returning back to Kelburn, Earth in time for sunrise.

I took the kids to the observatory as well.  Got there at about 11am.  Queued for tickets, only the 3:30 show ticks were left.  We went away to get lunch & came back about 2:30, the queues were about 4 x longer than when we got there in the morning.  Nice show.  I actually nodded off for a few secs , not because the show was boring, far from it, but because the seats were comfy & it was dark.  I wore my Nix supporters top.
